After a long hiatus, we have these tripods back in stock!
The latest addition to our match-winning equipment lineup is a carbon fiber tripod. We have put together a custom size tripod that keeps the ultra heavy duty, 40mm diameter main legs with a 75mm top plate in a package that weighs under 5.5lbs complete! In-shop testing has shown that we can do pullups on the fully extended tripod without any concern of buckling or collapse.
The legs articulate outwards into (3) positions, the lowest bringing the top plate nearly flat to the ground. The leg length adjustment comes via (3) high tactile friction lock collars.
We have upgraded the leg tubes to maintain 10 ply layups of woven unidirectional tows and shortened the overall tube lengths by approximately 4 inches per tube. The tripod is plenty tall enough for even a 6'6+ shooter to lock into and shoot off the top but without any wasted height that adds needless weight and flex under load. Tripod height at full extension is 72 inches tall.
The collapsed height is 21" by itself, the SC-44 ball head adds 4" to a total of 25".
The COMP-40 carries a 1 year warranty for manufacturing and material defects. Abuse and negligence by users is not warrantied, this includes swinging the tripod to extend the legs against the leg stops.
Our tripod will work with the TA-3 Really Right Stuff Leveling Base and video bowl and the Anvil 30 Compact Ballhead using the 3/8"-16 mount.
